What We’re Learning:
Math– We will be “putting it all together,” connecting addition and subtraction with fact families. For example, the fact family for 8, 6 and 14 is: 8+6=14, 6+8=14, 14-8=6, 14-6=8.
Reading- This entire month we will be reading fun, holiday themed books while reviewing all of the reading skills we have learned so far this year: Characters, Setting, Beginning, Middle, End, Asking Questions, Main Idea and Author’s Purpose.
Writing-We will continue our informational writing unit this week. This week students will be writing teaching books about Thomas Jefferson.
Phonics-We will be learning about words that have the blends: ph as in phone and ck as in clock.
Social Studies-We will be learning about another of our brilliant founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson. Students always love learning about his bravery and vision while starting our country!
S.T.E.A.M. We had a GREAT time trying to revise the ending of, The Gingerbread Man, by creating a hideout for him with Mrs. Adams’ 3rd grade class. Check out our pictures on Seesaw!
Have a Wonderful Week!
