What We’re Learning:

Math-We will study the Place Value for numbers 20-99. Students will have to identify how many tens and ones are in a number as well as represent it in expanded form, i.e. 83=80+3. Please continue to have your child practice his/her addition and subtraction math facts every evening either with Moby Max and/or flashcards.

Reading- We will continue identifying and explaining Author’s Purpose. Students will identify if an author is writing to Persuade, Inform or Entertain. They will also explain how they know this.

Writing-We will write an Informational Book, which includes a Table of Contents, Headings, Illustrations and labels, about Benjamin Franklin.

Phonics: We will review all of the phonics skills we have learned so far this year: closed syllables, short vowel sounds, consonants vs. vowels, the -ck rule, c vs. k, and the FLOSS rule.

Content- We will continue our unit on one of our brilliant founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin. We will have so much fun learning about his amazing contributions to our country. There will be an assessment this Friday.

S.T.E.A.M. We will cultivate our fall garden.
