Reminders:
- THANK YOU ALL, again, for all of my cards, flowers, treats and gifts this week. I cannot express to you all of my gratitude. I felt truly appreciated and I appreciate all that you did for me!
- Please send in your child’s decorated Valentine’s Box, as well as any Valentine’s cards that they want to hand out this Wednesday, February 13th!
- For our unit on President Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt, this Friday, February 15th students will get to bring in a teddy bear from home.
What We’re Learning:
Math– We will be Adding and Subtracting Multiples of 10 to/from numbers. For example:35+20=55, 87-30=57.
Reading- We will continue learning about Point of View-Who is telling the story. We will learn how Point of View can affect a story, and how the story would be different from a different Point if View.
Writing-We will continue our Opinion Writing unit. We will focus upon our opening sentence, our 3 supporting reasons and our concluding sentence.
Phonics: We will learn about the Long I Vowel made by IE and IGH as in tie and night.
Social Studies: We will continue our unit on President Theodore Roosevelt. There will be an assessment this week. This unit will serve as a great segue to our next science unit on animals.
S.T.E.A.M.-Students will be putting on a shadow puppet theater play conveying the central message of kindness for Kindness Week!
