What We’re Learning:

Math– We will continue comparing numbers using greater than, less than or equal to signs. We will have an assessment this week.

Reading- We will continue learning about the Central Message, or the lesson/moral of stories. We will identify and discuss what the author is trying to teach us, as well as how we can apply this to our own lives.

Writing-We will continue our Opinion Writing unit. We will focus upon our opening sentence, our 3 supporting reasons and our concluding sentence.

Phonics: We will learn about the Long O Vowel made by OA and OW and OE as in throat, snow and doe. Phonics Rule: When 2 vowels go walking, the first one does the talking.

Social Studies: We will continue learning about the 7 continents. Students will get to rotate to all the different first grade teachers to learn about all the different continents. They will be coming home with a great flip-book of the 7 continents to keep for many years to come!

S.T.E.A.M.: Students will participate in a theatrical S.T.E.A.M. activity involving our 7 continents.

Have a Wonderful Week!
