  2. Have your child practice his/her Math Fact Fluency for 10 minutes using flashcards, Moby Max Fact Fluency, App: Sushi Monster, App: Math Drills, or Math Magician Addition https://coolsciencelab.com/math_magic.html
  3.  Moby Max Subtraction Problems This Week: I have assigned Subtraction Math Problems this week in Moby Max. Students should be able to complete these assignments independently! There are several, so your child can do 1 or 2 a day. Please try to make sure these are all completed by the end of the week!

  1. Go to Seesaw: Complete “ Reading Response: The Garden”I have attached lined paper to use as well.
  2. Read for 30 minutes. Remember to set a timer and read aloud to someone, if possible.
  3. Extension: Connections: Write 3 sentences about the connections you can make while reading this week. What are some connections you made while reading this week? What did your reading make you think of? Did it remind you of anything similar or different in your life, the world, and/or other books you’ve read? Take a picture and attach this to your journal. Writing about what you have read helps with comprehension!

Phonics:

It was wonderful to see everyone during our Zoom meeting on Friday. We will have another one this Friday, at the same time, 1:00 p.m., for planning purposes! I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend; it sure was a beautiful one! We have one week to go until Spring Break. We can do this! As always, please let me know if you need ANYTHING!!!

Friday, March 27th!

Today we will have our second Zoom meeting at 1:00 p.m. I will send out the invitation at 12:45 p.m. We will be celebrating 2 birthdays, as well as welcoming a special, surprise guest! Before the meeting, please have your child select something to share with our class. This could be a special stuffed animal, something he/she created, a favorite game, etc. Each child will get the chance to share!

Math:

  1. Write a kind letter to a friend in your neighborhood. Be sure to have correct capitalization and punctuation. Tell them why they are the BEST. Then deliver to their mailbox (with an adult, of course!) Draw a fun picture to cheer them up, as well!

Thursday, March 26th!

  1. Go to Seesaw: Narrative Writing #3. I have attached the writing paper to my email. You will need (3) for a beginning, middle and ending page.

Content:

  1. Go to Seesaw and complete the George Washington Carver: “Carver Peanut Plant Activity. “

Movement:

  • It’s going to be a beautiful day! Go on a walk and observe all of the different plants that you see! Record these in a notebook labeled, “Botanist Observations.” You can take a picture and upload to Seesaw.

Creativity:

  • Create all the different parts of a plant using materials from home: straws, toothpicks, yarn, etc. Glue this to a sheet of paper, then label all of its different parts: stem, leaves, roots, petals, etc. Take a picture and upload to Seesaw.

  1. It looks like tomorrow will be another rainy day. You get to be the “Boss of Brain Breaks” today. Go to GoNoodle and a few of your favorites and have fun moving and dancing around.

Creativity:

  • Go to Seesaw and complete the” S.T.E.A.M Curious Moment Activity.” What will you create today?

Monday, March 23rd!

It was great seeing everyone’s smiling faces on Friday during our virtual class meeting! We will do it again this Friday at 1:00 pm. and will be celebrating 2 classmates’ birthdays by having them share their birthday bags! I’m looking forward to this week. I think we had the opportunity to work out a lot of the technology kinks last week, but please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any problems whatsoever! Friday, March 20th!

Today we will be having a Virtual Zoom classroom meeting! I thought we could have it at 1:00 p.m. so that everyone has time to do school work in the morning. I will send out all of the instructions in my daily email!

Math:

  1. Go to Seesaw and Complete the Activity titled: “2D Shapes: My Shape: My Shape Animal & Extension”
  2. Go onto Moby Max to complete any uncompleted assignments!
  3. Practice your math facts! I posted a fun Math Fact Game on Seesaw: Addition Fact Fluency Shark Game.” This is a great way to practice your facts. Take a picture of yourself playing it and post to Seesaw!

Reading:

  1.  Go to Seesaw and do the Book Flix activity, “Retelling A Story.”
  2. Read for 30 minutes. Remember to set a timer and read aloud to someone, if possible.
  3. Extension: Write 3 sentences about what you read about in a journal. Take a picture and attach this to your journal. I love seeing and reading these reflections!

Phonics:

  1. In Seesaw complete the Phonics Activity: “Phonics-Vowel Team ow”

 

Movement:

  1. Go outside if you can, otherwise, look through a window and observe a bird for 5 minutes. Write down your observations and illustrate. BONUS: Can you name what kind of bird it is?

Creativity:

  • Spring is here! The first day was yesterday! Create a Welcome Spring Banner! Draw a spring picture of all your favorite things about spring: flowers, birds, other animals, trees, etc.

Thursday, March 19th!

Another successful day! Remember, your child does NOT have to complete everything. It is a long day, however, so I want you to have options! Also, please remember that your child doesn’t have to always type/write on the screen. You can have them write their answers/responses in a journal, take a picture and upload. Pencil to paper is important too! Most importantly, please let your children know that I am missing them terribly. This is hard!

Math:

  2. Go onto Moby Max to complete any uncompleted assignments!
