Week of January 8th!

  • Report Cards were sent home on Friday. Please sign and send back the envelopes. You keep the report card.
  • Monday, January 8th DUE: Please send in 5 of your child’s favorite items from a collection in the paper bag sent home.
  • This Wednesday we go to the ILC. Please send in all library books.
  • Homework Calendars will go home this Monday. As a reminder, weekly work is on the right of the Red Folder-due every Friday, and monthly homework is on the left side and is due on the last Friday of every month.

What We’re Learning This Week:

Math-This week we will be learning how to add to 100 using multiples of 10. Please continue to work on addition and subtraction math facts to 20 using flashcards. Flashcards can be easily made or purchased.

Reading– We will start learning about the central message. Central message is the message or lesson that writers are trying to convey through the stories they write. We will also make connections to their own lives.

Phonics- This week we will be learning about digraphs-ch and sh.

Writing-We will kick off our Opinion Writing unit by sharing, ranking, and giving supporting reasons for our favorite things.

Social Studies-We will start learning about the expeditions of Lewis and Clark.

S.T.E.M.- This month we will devising a winter hibernation habitat for an animal. We will start the imagining and planning phase this week.
