  • THANK YOU to our veterans who came in to speak to our class today: Hannah Berry’s grandfather, Mr. Lee, Tobin Jorgensen’s grandfather, Mr. Russ and Ben Florence’s grandfather, Mr. Jack. We honor you and all veterans for your service, sacrifice and patriotism!
  • Monday is the last day of Tritt’s Thanksgiving food drive. Please send in any donations that you can.

What We’re Learning This Week:

Math-We will be solving true/false equations this week. Students will have to solve both sides of the equation and label the equations as true or false. They will have to solve addition and subtraction problems to 20 in order to do this, so please continue to work on those flashcards at home!

Reading– This week we will have fun reading all about Thanksgiving themed topics: Pilgrims, Native American Indians, and fun books about turkeys! After reading, students will be able to answer comprehension questions. We will use all of the reading skills we have learned so far this year while reading these fun texts!

Phonics- This week’s phonic’s skill will be the Long I sound as in “drive.”

Writing-We will write some creative turkey stories this week, incorporating our skills learned throughout our Informational Unit so far.  We will also finish writing about all of the things that we are thankful for.

Social Studies-We will be learning about another brilliant founding father, and former president, Thomas Jefferson!! This is such a great and important unit for the students and we will learn just how difficult it was to create something as great as America!!

S.T.E.M.- Students loved creating their sound instruments and reinforced their understanding of sound in the process! This week we will be creating our very own hot air balloon parade. Students will be given a balloon and will have to transform their balloons into an animal, character from a movie, etc. They will then be given the opportunity to create a skit, song, or dance incorporating their creation. To culminate, we will be parading throughout the school in our very own Thanksgiving Day Parade!
