On Friday we were visited by our amazing founding father, Ben Franklin. We learned even more about his great accomplishments. How one person could achieve so much in a lifetime is beyond me!

- This week is Early Release, Conference Week!
- The Tritt Dash has officially begun! This is Tritt’s main fundraiser. Please help your child to raise money for our school’s annual fundraiser!! Please send the envelopes in on Monday for our First count day. Any students who raise $100 by this Monday, October 17th, will get to go to the ice cream truck!!!! Please see the email I sent for more prize/incentive details!!
Our Week At A Glance:
Reading: We will be focusing on Main Ideas and Supporting Details this week while reading fun, bat books (fiction and nonfiction). Please make sure your children are reading 20 minutes every night!!
Writing: We will continue writing factual pieces. We will also start learning about and focusing upon Capitalization, at the beginning of sentences and those tricky proper nouns!!
Phonics: We will start our unit on words with the ch and sh digraphs. Please look for the complete list in their red homework folders on Monday. As always, there will be a spelling test on Friday on 10 of those words, plus a Bonus word.
Science: We will start our fun unit on Magnets!
S.T.E.M. We observed our water containers and learned that some prevented evaporation better than others. We reflected upon our reasons for this and discussed insulation, etc.
